Welcome to the LILAC Website
LILAC stands for Leading Improvements for Looked After Children. It is a 3 year project until August 2012 for which A National Voice has received funding from the National Lottery BIG Young Persons Fund. LILAC focuses on participation and making sure looked-after children and young people are involved in decisions relating to both their individual care and the policies and practices of the services that look after them.
LILAC involves care-experienced young people:
- carrying out assessments of how well services involve and consult with their children and young people
- delivering training on participation and the LILAC standards
Young People
Young people involved in LILAC will have an exciting opportunity to build skills, meet new people and visit new places. Most importantly they will have a real opportunity to influence positive changes for other children and young people in care.
They will be trained to deliver training and to carry out assessments and can gain a Level 2 qualification accredited by the National Open College Network.
Are you:
- Aged between 16 and 24?
- Hard–working?
- Motivated?
- Passionate about improving the care system and getting your voice heard?
- Available to take part in 3 days training?
- Looking for some occasional paid work?
If so:
We are recruiting for care–experienced young people aged 16—24 to carry out assessments and deliver training. We are recruiting in different regions at different times so please check the diary to see when we will be recruiting in your region.
If we are not yet in your region then please get in contact and we are happy to try and answer any of your questions. If you want we can keep your details and contact you when we are recruiting in your area.
