Young People
LILAC gives you the chance to get involved and influence the way the care system works in practice.
The training, which will last 3 days and will normally be run over two weekends, will focus on building skills such as:
- Presentation skills and self–confidence
- Team work
- Listening and communication skills
- Carrying out interviews
- Delivering training
- Being professional and non–discrimination
Qualification
The training will be delivered by experienced trainers and you will have the opportunity to gain a Level 2 NOCN accredited qualification. (National Open College Network).
Assess
You will then have the opportunity, working in small teams, to take part in 1-3 assessments in your local region and to deliver training to social care professionals, foster carers and looked after children and young people.
Payment and expenses
While you are training you will be paid your food and travel expenses. Once you are trained you will be paid at an hourly rate for each assessment or training event you undertake.
Generally an assessment will involve 4 days work split over a couple of weeks and each training event will last a day.
